CEO
Ian Colley
Ian Colley is the CEO and Co-Founder of Queensland Dental Services (QDS), a company he established with Rhonwyn Colley in 2012. With over three decades of experience in the biomedical and dental equipment industry, Ian has been instrumental in building QDS into one of Queensland’s most trusted providers of dental equipment servicing, installation, and compliance testing.
Ian began his career in 1990 and spent over 12 years working for Queensland Health within Biomedical Technology Services, specialising in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of oral health equipment across the state. His time in the public health sector provided him with deep insight into the standards and operational needs of clinics both in metropolitan and remote regions — insights that have shaped QDS’s responsive, compliance-focused service model.
He holds qualifications as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic, an Associate Diploma in Electronics, and maintains Radiation Use and Compliance Testing Licences. Ian’s technical expertise is complemented by strong leadership, and under his guidance, QDS has grown to a team of more than a dozen skilled technicians, backed by an experienced administrative and logistics support crew.
Known for his calm, practical leadership and unwavering commitment to quality, Ian continues to mentor new technicians and champion industry best practices. He is proud to lead a professional and passionate team that supports both public and private sector clients across Queensland and northern NSW.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys exploring Europe on foot and has completed multiple Camino pilgrimages through Spain, France, and Italy. He also enjoys hiking, history, and long walks in the countryside. Ian loves spending time with Rhonwyn and their much-loved Airedale Terrier, Katana, who is not only a beloved companion but also serves as the QDS office care dog, always ready to lift spirits and bring a smile to the team.

Director, Quality Assurance and Client Manager
Rhonwyn Colley
Rhonwyn co-founded Queensland Dental Services in 2012 alongside Ian Colley, bringing her background in management consulting to the dental services sector. She is responsible for leading QDS’s quality assurance frameworks, operational systems, and client relationship management. Rhonwyn plays a key role in ensuring that the business delivers consistent, high-quality service and drives ongoing performance improvement.
In her spare time, Rhonwyn loves travelling, cooking, and keeping up with Ian on the many Camino and other walking routes across Europe. She and Ian are also devoted to Katana, their Airedale Terrier, who plays a major role in their lives and often features in QDS’s team culture and adventures.
Technician Team

Technical Manager
Derek McNabb
Derek is the Technical Manager at QDS, responsible for leading our field service team and setting the technical standard across all aspects of service delivery. With over 12 years at QDS and a background as an electronics technician in the Australian Defence Force — including multiple tours in Afghanistan — Derek brings leadership, depth of experience, and unwavering commitment to quality.
Derek is known for his hands-on expertise, particularly in troubleshooting complex faults and mentoring team members. He plays a central role in developing QDS’s internal processes and service models, contributing to service design and operational improvement initiatives that enhance customer outcomes and increase efficiency.
He is also instrumental in driving QDS’s Refurbished Chair Program, overseeing the delivery of high-quality refurbished A-dec dental chairs. Under his guidance, refurbished equipment is rebuilt and quality-checked to meet the same rigorous standards as new installations.
Outside of work, Derek enjoys the outdoors — camping, fishing, and spending time on his boat. He is a strong advocate for Male Mental Health initiatives at QDS, and regularly organises technician weekends where the team can relax and recharge by the river and fire in their swags.

Senior Biomedical Technician and Customer Relationship Manager
Corey Semenowicz
Corey is a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Technician who also leads customer scheduling and coordination as QDS’s Customer Relationship Manager. Since joining QDS in 2017, Corey has become a trusted voice for clients across Queensland and Northern NSW — blending his deep technical expertise with a genuine commitment to exceptional customer service.
With a strong focus on diagnostics and proactive problem-solving, Corey is often the first point of contact when a client needs help. His hands-on experience allows him to troubleshoot and resolve many issues over the phone, while also ensuring that the right technician — equipped with the correct tools, parts, and expertise — is dispatched for more complex repairs. This precise, informed approach plays a key role in QDS’s outstanding “Fixed First Time” performance, minimising downtime and maximising value for our clients.
Corey’s technical specialties include the repair, calibration, and validation of dental sterilisers to AS4815 and AS4187 standards. His attention to detail and clear communication style make him a standout member of the team — both in the field and behind the scenes.
Outside of work, Corey enjoys spending quality time with his wife Sarah and their son, whether at the skate park or cycling along the beachside trails.

Senior Biomedical Technician and Technical Trainer
Kym Wright
Kym is an experienced biomedical technician with over 23 years in electromechanical engineering, including roles with the Australian Defence Force and in both private and public hospital environments. He joined QDS in January 2019 and now leads technical training across the organisation.
Kym plays a key role in developing technician capability and embedding best practice. He is meticulous in his approach to work, making him an excellent trainer who ensures that all QDS technicians are trained to the highest standards. He also contributes to service design and process improvement initiatives that support technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
Outside of work, Kym enjoys fishing, camping in his swag with his wife Helen, and going on adventurous journeys — from trekking through Nepal to walking the Camino trails through Spain. He’s also a fan of camel race spectating and rarely misses an opportunity to explore off the beaten path.

Senior Dental Equipment Technician
Brett Day
Brett has over 30 years of experience in the dental equipment industry, having started his career in 1991. Throughout this time, he has built solid technical expertise across the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a wide variety of dental systems.
His experience spans a range of leading brands, including A-dec, KaVo, NSK, Cattani and Durr suction systems, and dental laboratory equipment, allowing him to support a broad range of practices with practical, brand-specific knowledge. Brett takes a thorough, thoughtful approach to every job and consistently delivers dependable service to QDS clients across Queensland.
Outside of work, Brett enjoys spending time with his wife Pa, travelling to Thailand, playing golf, catching up with friends over traditional German and Asian beers, and relaxing with a fine Nicaraguan cigar.

Steriliser Team Lead
Jonathan Shadwick
Jonathan Shadwick leads QDS’s Steriliser Team and brings a strong electrical background and results-driven mindset to the role. An experienced electrician, Jonathan joined QDS in 2022 and quickly took charge of developing and expanding our steriliser compliance and testing services.
Since stepping into this leadership position, Jonathan has become a subject matter expert in dental steriliser compliance, ensuring that all testing and validation is performed in strict accordance with standards such as AS4815 and AS4187. He has implemented continuous improvements in workflow efficiency, optimised equipment layout, and refined reporting processes — helping to streamline service delivery and boost compliance outcomes.
Jonathan’s dedication and technical expertise have been instrumental in growing this vital part of the QDS business, supporting clinics across Queensland and northern NSW with dependable, high-quality sterilisation solutions.
Outside of work, Jonathan loves spending time with his wife Amy and their two energetic young sons. Whether it’s heading out on weekend adventures, building LEGO cities, or exploring new parks, Jonathan embraces every opportunity to create fun, meaningful moments with his family.

Biomedical Technician
Luke Jones
Luke is a Biomedical Technician with over 10 years of experience in the dental industry. Since joining QDS, Luke has become a dependable and well-liked member of the technical team, bringing a friendly, easy-going attitude to every job.
Currently expanding his knowledge in sterilisation compliance and water quality systems, Luke approaches each task with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. He has a solid foundation in servicing dental equipment and is always ready to support his colleagues and clients wherever needed.
Luke enjoys the variety that each day brings and thrives in hands-on environments where teamwork and reliability matter. His approachable manner and practical mindset contribute to QDS’s high standard of service delivery.
Outside of work, Luke loves spending time outdoors with his family, enjoying everything Queensland’s great weather and natural landscapes have to offer.

Warehouse and Workshop Manager
Mark Gratton
Mark is the driving force behind QDS’s warehouse and workshop operations. Since joining the team in 2023, Mark has brought with him a wealth of knowledge and over two decades of experience in logistics, workshop coordination, and equipment maintenance — including his previous leadership role managing the Van Workshop for Queensland Health.
At QDS, Mark plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. He oversees all workshop activity, manages inventory and logistics, and leads the servicing and maintenance program for suction motors and compressors — a vital part of keeping dental clinics up and running. Mark is also the go-to person for technical problem-solving in the workshop, helping the broader QDS team deliver on our promise of reliability and fast turnaround.
What truly sets Mark apart is his ability to lead with energy and positivity. He’s known for being helpful, resourceful, and unflappable under pressure — always ready to jump in and get the job done with efficiency and professionalism.
Outside of work, Mark is all about enjoying the outdoors. He loves camping, travelling, and sharing good food around the BBQ with family and friends. Mark brings warmth, dedication, and operational excellence to everything he does — making him a valued cornerstone of the QDS team.

Biomedical Technician
Liam Deveer Riley
Liam joined QDS in December 2024, bringing over 13 years of hands-on experience in the dental equipment industry. Having completed his apprenticeship with Dental Depot, Liam has developed a broad and deep understanding of dental servicing across a wide range of equipment and environments.
Liam is known for his methodical approach, technical precision, and commitment to delivering reliable, efficient service. His extensive field experience makes him a trusted technician for complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Outside of work, Liam has a passion for aviation and can often be found flying light aircraft from Redcliffe Airport. Whether he’s in the air or on the ground, Liam is always focused, calm under pressure, and striving for excellence.

Biomedical Technician
Ash Ebrahim
Ash joined QDS in December 2024 and brings with him a solid background in dental servicing and marine electronics. His combined experience gives him a strong understanding of both precision electrical systems and the importance of reliability in technical service.
Ash is highly skilled in troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards in dental environments. He is known for his proactive approach, attention to detail, and his commitment to delivering great service to customers.
Prior to working in dental, Ash worked in marine electronics, where he developed a deep understanding of robust system maintenance and safety-critical repairs—skills he now applies every day at QDS.
Outside of work, Ash is passionate about health and fitness. He recently completed his first marathon and enjoys running, hiking, and spending time outdoors whenever he can.

Dental Service Technician
Lloyd Van Moorhem
Lloyd joined QDS in May 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time as an Electrical Maintenance Technician at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in the UK. With over a decade of experience in electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and steriliser systems, Lloyd has proven expertise in equipment reliability and technical excellence especially in environments demanding the highest standards of compliance and safety.
Lloyd has a strong background in sterilisers, gained through years of hands-on involvement with medical-grade equipment and installation projects at GSK. He’s known for his practical approach, analytical mindset, and ability to diagnose and solve problems effectively. His extensive skills in root cause analysis, technical documentation, and compliance testing make him a valuable addition to the QDS team.
Having recently migrated to Australia in December 2024 with his wife Rachel and their two children, Lloyd and his family are enjoying exploring Southeast Queensland and discovering everything it has to offer for an active young family.
Administration Team

Administration Manager (Invoicing & Accounts Receivable)
Kate Clark
Kate Clark is QDS’s longest-serving administrative team member, having joined the business in 2013. With over a decade of experience supporting technicians, clients, and operations, Kate plays an integral role in keeping the wheels turning at QDS.
As Administration Manager, Kate is responsible for Invoicing and Accounts Receivable, ensuring that all work orders, service reports, and part orders are accurately documented, billed, and followed up. She works closely with both our field technicians and customers to ensure that service records are processed smoothly and queries are handled efficiently.
Kate’s deep understanding of QDS’s systems and processes, along with her calm, professional approach, makes her a trusted point of contact for clients and colleagues alike. Her attention to detail, consistency, and reliability have made her an invaluable part of the team.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys everything Noosa and Sunshine Beach have to offer. She and her husband Andy are actively involved with the local Surf Life Saving Club, where their daughters, Lydia and Evie, participate in nippers and community programs. You’ll often find the family enjoying the coastal lifestyle with their dog Ruby, whether it’s at the beach, out walking, or supporting local events.

Administration Officer & WHS Coordinator
Michele Coolledge
Michele Coolledge is a vital part of the QDS team, bringing energy, organisation, and a meticulous eye for detail to her dual roles in administration and workplace health and safety. Since joining QDS in 2021, Michele has become known for her ability to keep the office running smoothly, ensuring jobs are processed efficiently, systems are well-managed, and compliance remains a top priority.
Michele is the go-to person for coordinating daily operations — from supporting technicians with scheduling and documentation, to overseeing the workplace safety protocols that protect our team and clients. Her ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a calm, can-do attitude makes her an invaluable team member.
In addition to her professional capabilities, Michele plays a key role in maintaining a positive and cohesive team culture. She keeps everyone on track, brings people together, and contributes significantly to the supportive and collaborative environment QDS is known for.
Outside of work, Michele enjoys a vibrant and active lifestyle. She’s a huge fan of live music, footy, and fun-filled weekends exploring everything Brisbane has to offer. At home, Michele loves Pilates, caring for her cats, and going on long walks with her two dogs, Aspen and Numeria. She and her husband Paul enjoy making the most of their downtime — whether it's at a concert, a game, or simply enjoying good food and company.
